Julia Sedyk joined ISC in June 2006 as a Legal and Civil Society Specialist to work for the USAID-funded Ukraine Rule of Law Project. Julias work is focused on improving interaction between civil society groups and the judiciary of Ukraine and increasing public awareness of Ukrainian judicial policies and procedures.
Among her main responsibilities is to coordinate the Ukraine Rule of Law Projects ongoing Court Monitoring Program as well as citizen report cards (CRC) including a survey program to measure citizen satisfaction with court services. Additionally, Sedyk serves as a liaison between Chemonics International, Inc the prime contractor for the project, and ISC to ensure that ISC is fully informed of project developments.
Sedyk has vast experience as a legal consultant for numerous business and non-profit projects and organizations dating back to 1998. Sedyk has a Specialists degree in Law (Cum Laude, 2002), and a Specialists degree in Philology (Cum Laude, 1996) from the Kyiv Taras Shevchenko National University. She is fluent in the Ukrainian, Modern Greek, Russian languages and English, enjoys playing piano, listening to classical music, reading, dancing hip hop, and hiking. Julia has a 3-year-old son, Severyn.
