back to board listRichard D. Paisner, 58, is Chair and CEO of Quincy Partners, Inc. Quincy Partners provides strategic, technological and financial advice to the CEOs of for-profit and not-for-profit organizations.
From 1976 to 2000, Mr. Paisner served as a co-founder and President of TEI Industries, Inc. TEI and its affiliates owned and operated a variety of companies in diverse fields, including, among others, health care services, Internet-based interactive data bases, computer simulation, entertainment and real estate. One of TEIs portfolio companies, Focus Technologies, Inc. created the first global surveillance network tracking antibiotic resistance.
Mr. Paisner is the co-founder of the Johns Hopkins University Center for Innovative Medicine. The Centers goal is to help academic medical centers restructure themselves to meet the challenges of the twenty-first century by improving service to patients, promoting collaboration between researchers and clinicians and using technology wisely.
He has served on the Boards of Directors of a number of philanthropic organizations, including the Advocacy Institute (of which he was Chair) and was a member of the Task Force on International Finance and Crime of the Center for Strategic and International Studies. Mr. Paisner also served on the staffs of the Senate Commerce Committees Consumer Subcommittee and of the Chairman of the Federal Trade Commission.
Born in Providence, R.I., Mr. Paisner received his B.A. from Harvard College and his J.D. from Harvard Law School. He was associated with the Washington, D.C. law firm of Wilmer Cutler and Pickering before joining the TEI group in 1976.
