Other Countries
Albania
Our project to protect Lake Ohrid, which borders Albania and Macedonia, resulted in a historic partnership to save the lake's native fish. It also played a role in reducing ethnic tension between two neighboring countries in a volatile region. A central aspect of this project was connecting the communities of Lake Ohrid with their counterparts from Lake Champlain in the United States. The United Nations has designated both lakes was among the world's most significant natural resources.
