By 2050, 70% of the world’s population will be found in urban areas. Cities are where the people live, it’s where the pollution is generated, and it’s where we’re finding leading-edge solutions for the issues of our age. Cities – dense, active, intense – represent both the challenge and the key to a sustainable world.
In our new series, Lessons from the Leading Edge, we’ll be sharing the work of sustainability leaders in cities around the U.S. We’ll be showcasing projects both practical and inspirational, giving an insiders view on the kinds of work we’re seeing happen at the ground level as local leaders take action to move their cities forward.
Each “lesson” is a downloadable PDF that you can pass along to colleagues and policy leaders, and we’ll be continuing the discussion here at the blog. We hope that this will inspire you to find ways to make change in the cities you live in and care about, and we’re eager to hear what you think of the stories we’re sharing.
